Topics discussed during the event includes Types of Diabetes, Proper Nutrition, and Weight Loss Through Running. It was held at Glorieta 5 Activity Center last November 17, 2012.

Nestlé Fitnesse Shape Up Night

The Lucky Winners of Nestlé Fitnesse Cereal and Free Membership at Fitness First Philippines for six months with party host  Miss Iya Villana on my right, the Marketing Managers of Nestlé Philippines and Fitness First Philippines and the international Zumba specialist David Velez.

I seldom go to a party but my friend Nancy had convinced me to join the Nestlé Fitnesse Shape Up Night last March 31, 2012 at NBC Tent, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

It was sometime in March last year when Nancy gave me a small flyer with details on how to be a part of the Zumba Fitness party.  I thought there's nothing wrong if I would go to this summer party because it promotes the fun side of health and wellness.

In order to join the party, participants must show a proof of purchase of any Nestlé Fitnesse Cereal or buy one at the event. Of course like other fitness enthusiasts, I didn't want to miss this rare chance to dance with international Zumba specialist Mr. David Velez and meet the lovely VJ Ms. Iya Villana! The next day, I bought one box of Nestlé Fitnesse cereal for only P 99.00 at Market!Market! and kept my receipt as my pass. Aside from getting the opportunity join the Zumba Fitness party, I learned that there's a promo on Facebook Fanpage of Nestlé Philippines. I registered wishing that I would win a six month supply of Nestlé Fitnesse Cereal and a six month free membership at Fitness First Philippines.

The lively and untiring crowd danced for more than two hours at NBC Tent.

I was very lucky that night to experience Zumba Party for the first time. There were lots of activity booths that I really enjoyed like Glitter Tattoo, Nutrition Counseling and Animated Photo Booklet. While waiting for the program to start, we're generously treated with an unlimited free taste of Nestle products such as Nestlé Fitnesse Cereal, Nestlé Fruit Selection Yogurt, Nestlé Fresh Milk and Nestlé Yogurt Drink in Mango and Strawberry flavors.

Nestlé Philippines with the supervision of a DTI already picked the 14 lucky winners of a six month supply of Nestle Fitnesse Cereal and a six month free membership at Fitness First Philippines by means of an electronic raffle of the entries submitted in its Facebook Fanpage.

My wish was granted! I won!

From the month of May until November 2012, Nestle Philippines sent me a total of 90 boxes (330g) of Nestle Fitnesse Cereal through JRS Express. I also shared my cereal to my officemates and friends.

I Made This!

Photo A Day
March 2, 2013
I Made This!
I wake up early just to take a photo of something I made for the second day of my Photo A Challenge. Actually, I made this blog, Fely N Stitch, so that I can show you my sewing projects.

I made this biased purple dress using the sewing machine of my mother-in-law. The year after, I bought my own Singer sewing machine. Having my own equipment, I have more time making costumes for my friends. We participated in the Pinoy Otaku Encore 2011 held at SM Mega Trade Hall last November 26, 2011.

I was inspired by this Red Hot dress Tom  and Linda Platt that was featured in the December 2010 issue of Vogue Patterns. So, I made one for myself using one and a half meter purple silk satin which I bought for only P 180.00 at Gaisano, Market! Market. Making this project was so easy! I just cut the fabric into two bias and connected to each other without notions needed. In order to achieve a smooth finish, I asked someone in the tailoring shop to sew the edges using a zigzig machine which I paid P 40.00 for the service. I only spent two hours finishing this project!

L is for Light

Photo a Day
First day of March 2013:
L is for LIGHT when everything is dark.

This is my first day to join the Photo a Day Challenge. I have already seen the list last night and looked around the house for any object which starts with letter L. I remembered I still have several unopened wedding gifts in my storage box. They've been there for more than four years! I found this one in still its original wrapping.

Though there's no gift tag anymore, I could still recall that these antique looking lamps were given by my friend Anna as a wedding gift.

My husband, who died last May 1, 2011 due to CKD, had never seen the light of these couple lamps.
As a go through this another chapter of my life without him, may God will lighten my sorrow and pain of losing my Love.

I will try to say something about the photograph I have taken everyday. So keep following my blog.

Winning a Photo Contest -Let's Walk the Talk

"I am walking for all the women affected with breast cancer. I am praying that they will survive the disease in order to enjoy the rest of their with their families and friends."

The photograph above is my winning entry in a Photo Contest entitled Spot The Special Edition Pink KGBC  Ford Fiesta. It was taken by my officemate, Ariz , during the Avon KGBC Let's Walk The Talk held last October 21, 2012 at SM Mall of Asia open grounds.

Avon Philippines announced  the Photo Contest promo during the event and encouraged all participants in the Three-Kilometer Walk Category to look for the pink Ford Fiesta, take photos and have a chance to win a 50" 50iTV630 Smart 3D TV worth P 100,000. Upon hearing the P 100,000.00 worth of prizes, I walked faster to reach the Finish Line where the Special Edition Ford Fiesta was parked and surrounded by people in pink! Ariz and I alternately took our photos making sure that we would get a good shot.

When I got home that day, I uploaded my photo entry using my Facebook account Fely Xiaojie. I believe I have a very lucky account because this wasn't my first time to join a promo online. I already won a six-month supply of Nestle Fitnesse and a six-month free membership at Fitness First Philippines during the Nestle Fitnesse Shape Up Night last March 31, 2012 at NBC Tent, Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

With 194 votes from my online friends, I garnered the promo's grand prize- a 50" 50iTV630 Smart 3D TV.  I received my prize during the awarding ceremony held at the head office of Avon Philippines in Makati City last December 3, 2012.

Run for Breastfeeding!

It took me a year to post this first advocacy program that I have participated since I engaged myself into running. I wish I could still remember the details.

This activity Run to Save Lives! Run for Breastfeeding!, that was held at SM Mall of Asia last February 4, 2012, aimed to promote awareness among mothers  to breastfeed their babies from 0 to 6 months old or even beyond. The Departement of Health stressed that "TAMA, SAPAT AT EKSLUSIBO!(Right, Sufficient and Exclusive)Breastfeeding is best for  your babies' health and mental development."

Together with other participants, I signed in the Pledge of Commitment board as an act of binding myself to further campaign and encourage my families and friends to breastfeed their children.

Most of the participants were mothers who were also accompanied by their husbands and children. During the registration, we found out that there were free t-shirts given to the walkers and the one in-charge promised to give us after we finish the 2k walk. I reached the finish line ahead of my officemate, Ariz, because I was aiming to get that t-shirt. Though I was among the top ten walkers, I did receive my shirt. I had no regrets joining the walk because I had shed some sweat walking for a cause. This year, if ever there is another event like this, I will register in the 5k fun run..

It took me 23 minutes to complete the two kilometer walk and still smiling at the finish line.
